On Thursday, India went past the United Kingdom in terms of Coronavirus cases to become the fourth worst-hit country across the globe, as per Worldometer. India has reported 2,97,205 Coronavirus cases till date.
For the seventh day in a row, India has recorded over 9,500 fresh cases, while the one-day casualty figure crossed the 300-mark for the first time on Thursday.
As per the Worldometer figures, India is now on the fourth spot after the United States (20,76,495), Brazil (7,87,489) and Russia (5,02,436).
Out of the total 8,102 fatalities, Maharashtra tops it with 3,438 deaths, followed by Gujarat with 1,347 deaths, Delhi with 984 deaths, West Bengal with 432 deaths and Madhya Pradesh with 427 deaths.
The highest number of confirmed cases across the nation is again from Maharashtra with 94,041 cases, Tamil Nadu with 36,841 cases, Delhi with 32,810 cases, Gujarat with 21,521 cases and Uttar Pradesh at 11,610 cases.
A total of 357 fatalities and 9,996 new cases on Thursday pushed the death-toll to 8,102 and nationwide tally to 2,86,579. On a positive note, the number of patient recoveries remained more than the number of active cases.
