
Talking of the Covid situation as well the vaccine doses administered in the country, Union health secretary Rajesh Bhushan said, “There are 21,57,000 active cases in India currently, i.e., twice the number of maximum active Covid-19 cases last year. More than 13 crore people have been vaccinated in the country so far including 30 lakh doses administered in the last 24 hours”.
Adding further, Bhushan said, “Around 87% of health workers and 79% of frontline workers have received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccines”, as quoted by ANI.

In addition to this, the health ministry has issued a statement regarding the number of Covid vaccines administered so far and further details as well.
Well, according to the health ministry, the country has administered 13,01,19,310 doses of vaccine along with 29,90,197 vaccine doses being administered in a span of 24 hours.
Furthermore, several states like Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, and Kerala account for 59.25% of the total doses given so far in the country.
The total number of cases stands at 15,616,130 along with 2,95,158 cases reported in the last 14 hours. In addition to this, the number of cases on an average of seven days stands at 2,48,901.
The country in its endeavours to grapple with the escalating rates of Covid-19 has declared a complete lockdown and night curfews in several parts. Even, the national capital has announced a complete lockdown on Monday. It has to be in effect by the 26th of April, 2021. Also, several states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, and Karnataka have imposed restrictions on the inter and intra-state movement of people in wake of the rising Coronavirus.
