As the number of COVID-19 patients surge past 5,800 in Noida district, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated a hospital here, dedicated entirely for treating COVID-19 patients on Saturday
The Noida Covid Hospital (NCH) is now the largest state run covid facility in Uttar Pradesh. Most districts in the state have community health centers and primary health centers but this is the first time that a government hospital has been turned into a covid dedicated facility.
The officials informed that the NCH will initially begin with 200 beds in function and with due course of time the number will be increased to 400 beds.
CM Yogi Adityanath reviewed the entire situation of the hospital. On Friday, he even held a meeting with public representatives to discuss the Coronavirus crises in the district
The hospital has been developed by Tata Trusts and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Set up in sector 39 building, the NCH has its own blood bank and diagnostics laboratory. This facility is one of the four hospitals that the Tata trust has developed in UP and Maharashtra.
Not only the Tata trust has helped develop the hospital but has provided many equipments like thermometers, medicine carts and oximeters for the hospital.. the beds in the ICU have also been well equipped with oxygen support.
Along with CM Yogi Adityanath, MP Mahesh Sharma , MLA Pankaj Singh and District Magistrate Suhas L Y were also present for the inauguration. A total of 22 doctors and 46 nurses have been appointed to the facility so far.
