As per a report released by CNN, by the end of this week, the United States is projected to reach the mark of 160 million fully vaccinated Americans as announced on Tuesday by President Joe Biden. He also mentioned that to get more people vaccinated, his administration shall engage in targeted outreach, after the nation fell short of his initial July fourth goals.
As per the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 157 million Americans are fully vaccinated as of Tuesday morning while just over 67% of American adults have at least one COVID-19 vaccine. By July fourth, Biden’s goal was to have at least 70% of Americans vaccinated with a minimum of one shot of vaccine and around 160 million Americans fully vaccinated.
The plea for Americans to get vaccinated made by the President was being reiterated by him during remarks at the White House on Tuesday afternoon.
To provide information about the safety and efficacy of the vaccines and getting the doses to more primary care doctors along with other health providers, the President addressed his administration’s targeted outreach and also mentioned the stepping up efforts to get vaccines to pediatricians and other providers who serve younger people.
Helping to secure paid time off for employees to get vaccinated, by setting up vaccination clinics at workplaces Biden discussed expanding mobile clinic efforts while making COVID-19 vaccines more accessible. To get more Americans vaccinated, along with governors and local leaders across the public and private sectors, the administration shall continue to work, he added.
