NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Co. Ltd (CSPGCL) to develop up to 2000 MW of renewable energy projects, including floating solar power plants. This strategic partnership is a significant step towards boosting NGEL’s renewable energy portfolio and aligning with India’s clean energy goals.
The MoU was signed on November 26, 2024, in Raipur. The agreement was exchanged by Shri G. K. Gupta, Chief Engineer (CP & BD) of CSPGCL, and Shri D. Joshi, General Manager (Engineering) of NGEL, in the presence of senior dignitaries including:
- Shri S. K. Katiyar, Managing Director of CSPGCL
- Shri P. K. Mishra, Regional Executive Director (WR-II) of NTPC
- Other officials from NGEL, NTPC, and CSPGCL
This collaboration is poised to enhance the renewable energy capacity in the state of Chhattisgarh, leveraging advanced technologies like floating solar projects, which utilize water surfaces for energy generation. This initiative will not only promote clean energy but also support India’s ambitious renewable energy targets.
