With the introduction of the new R15M and MT-15 MotoGP Editions, Yamaha has increased the number of motorcycles it offers in the Indian market. These special edition motorcycles get cosmetic updates.
Following the release of the special version R15M with carbon fibre paint, the new MotoGP Edition of the bike will be sold at Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom). In the meantime, the special edition MT-15 V2 will be available for Rs 1.73 lakh (ex-showroom). The company has announced that both of these models will only be available for sale through Blue Square showrooms of the brand across the nation.
The firm has given the MotoGP Editions of R15M and MT-15 V2.0 a unique Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP-inspired livery to separate them from the standard version. The graphics can be seen on the fuel tank, tank shrouds and side panels.
Both of these motorcycles are very similar to the standard version that is on sale, apart from the appearance. For instance, the bike has features such as an assistive slipper clutch, traction control, upside-down forks, variable valve actuation and Bluetooth connectivity.
The 155 cc single-cylinder engine powering the Yamaha R15M and MT-15 MotoGP Editions can generate 18.1 bhp of power and 14.2 Nm of maximum torque. There is a six-speed gearbox paired with this. The firm also equips both of these motorcycles with dual-channel ABS for rider safety.
