Tesla has expanded its India portfolio with the launch of the all-new Tesla Model Y L, a six-seater electric SUV priced at ₹61.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The launch marks the brand’s most family-oriented offering yet, as it strengthens its presence in the country’s premium EV segment. Online bookings are now live via Tesla’s official India website, with deliveries scheduled to begin from June 2026.
Positioned as Tesla’s first three-row configuration for India, the Model Y L focuses on space, comfort, and long-range capability. The electric SUV offers a claimed range of up to 681 km (WLTP) and can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just 5.0 seconds. It also provides up to 2,539 litres of cargo space, making it suitable for both city commutes and long-distance family travel.
The newly launched L Premium All-Wheel Drive variant sits between Tesla’s existing trims. The Premium Rear-Wheel Drive 500 km variant is priced at ₹59.89 lakh, while the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive version with a 661 km range costs ₹67.89 lakh. Tesla has also introduced flexible financing, with monthly payments starting at ₹49,000.
Inside the cabin, the Model Y L emphasises comfort across all three rows. The second row features captain seats with powered armrests, heating, ventilation, and one-touch folding. The third row comes with power recline, climate control vents, and easy folding functionality. Additional features such as acoustic glass, adaptive suspension, electronic damping, and 19-inch Machina wheels contribute to a smoother and quieter driving experience.
Tesla continues to focus on in-car technology and connectivity. The Model Y L includes live traffic visualisation, satellite maps, live camera feeds, and streaming support for Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and Netflix. The SUV is equipped with an 18-speaker audio system along with a subwoofer for an immersive entertainment experience.
Alongside the launch, Tesla is expanding its charging and service infrastructure in India. The company currently operates five Supercharger stations with 20 Superchargers and 14 Wall Connectors. Plans are underway to add seven more stations across key highways connecting major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Chennai. Tesla’s home charging programme is already available nationwide.
On the service front, Tesla follows a direct-to-customer approach with minimal maintenance needs. Many issues can be addressed through over-the-air updates and remote diagnostics. Existing service centres are operational in Mumbai, Gurugram, Delhi, and Pune, while new facilities are expected soon in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Ahmedabad.
Customers can experience the Tesla Model Y L starting April 23 at Tesla experience centres located in Mumbai’s BKC, Delhi Aerocity, and Gurugram. Test drives can also be scheduled through Tesla’s customer helpline.
