Volkswagen, the renowned automobile manufacturer, has introduced an exciting update to its lineup with the launch of a six-speed manual gearbox option for the 1.5 TSI variants of the Virtus sedan. Priced at Rs 16.89 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Volkswagen Virtus 1.5 TSI manual aims to provide customers with enhanced control and driving experience.
In addition to the manual variant of the Virtus, Volkswagen has also unveiled the GT Plus variants of its popular Taigun SUV. The Taigun GT Plus is available with both manual and DSG automatic gearboxes, with prices starting from Rs 17.79 lakh (ex-showroom). This expansion of the Taigun range aims to cater to the evolving preferences and demands of customers in the competitive SUV segment.
To further enhance the appeal of the Virtus and Taigun, Volkswagen has introduced special exterior paint shade options. The new GT Edge Limited Collection offers customers the choice of two unique paint shades – Deep Black Pearl or Carbon Steel Grey matte finish. These exclusive paint options are available for the Taigun GT Plus DSG, GT Plus MT, Virtus GT Plus DSG, and GT Plus MT variants. It is worth noting that these special paint shades can only be booked online and will be manufactured on a made-to-order basis. Deliveries of the vehicles with these new color options will commence next month.
The updated Virtus lineup now includes the Virtus 1.5 GT with a six-speed manual gearbox, providing customers with greater flexibility and accessibility to the 1.5 TSI engine. Both the 115hp, 1.0 TSI engine and the 150hp, 1.5 TSI engine in the Virtus are now available with a six-speed manual transmission, while the 1.0 TSI automatic variant comes with a torque converter automatic gearbox.
Similarly, the Taigun GT Plus lineup has been expanded to offer more options. The top-spec GT Plus trim, previously available only with the DSG automatic, now includes the manual gearbox option for the 1.5 TSI engine. Additionally, the lower GT trim for the 1.5 TSI engine now comes with the DSG automatic gearbox, providing customers with a wider range of choices and appealing to a broader audience.
