Maruti Suzuki has officially started accepting bookings for its highly anticipated Invicto MPV, with a booking amount of Rs 25,000. Customers can reserve their Invicto either through Maruti Suzuki’s official website or by visiting any of the Nexa dealerships across the country. The Invicto, which is based on the Toyota Innova Hycross, is expected to be the first Maruti Suzuki model to be priced above the Rs 20 lakh mark in India.
To distinguish it from its sibling, the Hycross, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto will feature a unique grille design with two chrome slats, one of which extends into the headlights. The exterior will also showcase a slightly modified bumper, new headlight and tail-light inserts, and an exclusive alloy wheel design. Inside the cabin, minor adjustments to the upholstery and feature list will be made to ensure cost-effectiveness. It is possible that certain advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) elements may be omitted or excluded entirely.
In terms of powertrain options, higher-end variants of the Invicto are likely to be equipped with the 183hp, 2.0-litre strong-hybrid powertrain paired with an e-CVT, similar to the Innova Hycross. On the other hand, entry-level trims are expected to feature the 173hp, 2.0-litre petrol engine mated to a CVT. This marks the Invicto as the first Maruti Suzuki model to be exclusively available with an automatic transmission.
Manufactured alongside the Hycross at Toyota’s Bidadi plant, the Invicto will incur a royalty payment to Toyota for utilizing its TNGA-C platform and strong-hybrid powertrain. Consequently, the pricing of the Invicto is expected to be positioned at a premium level compared to equivalent Hycross variants.
In terms of rivals, the Maruti Suzuki Invicto will primarily compete with its sibling, the Toyota Innova Hycross, in the premium MPV segment. Additionally, it will also face competition from the Kia Carnival, although the Invicto’s pricing is slightly higher, ranging from Rs 30.99 lakh to Rs 35.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
With the commencement of bookings for the Maruti Suzuki Invicto, customers eagerly await the launch of this premium MPV, which promises to offer a blend of style, performance, and advanced features. The Invicto is poised to make a significant impact in the market and strengthen Maruti Suzuki’s presence in the high-end MPV segment.
