Maruti Suzuki Fronx variant launched with 6 airbags

Maruti Suzuki has launched a new mid-level Delta+ (O) model of the Fronx priced at ₹8.93 lakh to compete in the Indian automotive market. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx Delta+ (O) 1.2L AGS ESP model costs ₹9.43 lakh. The new Delta+ (O), which sits between the Delta+ and Zeta variants, does not have the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine but adds significant safety features.

The Delta+ (O) model has six airbags, which is a significant upgrade over the Delta+ variant’s dual frontal airbags. This feature makes it the cheapest Fronx model with six airbags. Despite this upgrade, the Fronx Delta+ (O) model costs ₹15,000 more than the corresponding Delta+ variant with two airbags.

Maruti Suzuki’s decision comes with a number of strategy updates from competitors, including Tata Motors. Tata Motors has updated its subcompact SUV portfolio by offering new models of the Tata Nexon. The Tata Nexon now has a starting price of ₹8 lakh for petrol and ₹10 lakh for diesel.

Smart (O), the new entry-level petrol model, is ₹15,000 less expensive than the previous base model, Smart. The changes are meant to compete with the Mahindra XUV 3XO’s base models, which start at ₹7.49 lakh.
