
Maruti Suzuki has updated the Celerio range, making it the most affordable car in India to offer six airbags as standard. This upgrade enhances safety but has also led to a price hike across all variants.
Price Hike Across Variants
The entry-level LXi variant has seen a price increase of ₹27,500, now starting at ₹5.64 lakh (ex-showroom). The VXi MT and VXi CNG MT variants are costlier by ₹16,000, while the VXi AMT has gone up by ₹21,000. The ZXi MT and ZXi+ MT variants have also seen a ₹27,500 hike. The ZXi+ AMT has the highest hike of ₹32,500, now priced at ₹7.37 lakh. Interestingly, the ZXi AMT price remains unchanged.
Performance & Fuel Efficiency
The Celerio is powered by a 1.0-litre K-Series petrol engine, producing 66 bhp and 89 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual and AMT. The CNG variant delivers 56 bhp and 82.1 Nm, available only with a manual gearbox.
In terms of fuel efficiency, the petrol-manual variant returns up to 25.24 kmpl, while the AMT version offers 26.68 kmpl. The CNG variant boasts an impressive 34.43 km/kg, as per ARAI certification.
Feature Upgrades
The top-end Celerio features a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. Additional highlights include keyless entry, push-button start-stop, and more. Safety features include ABS with EBD, ESP, reverse parking sensors, and Hill Hold Assist (on AMT variants).
