Kia Corporation revealed the exterior design of its PV5 Passenger and Cargo models on February 20, 2025, ahead of their full debut at Kia EV Day in Tarragona, Spain, on February 24. These models mark Kia’s first dedicated offerings under its new Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) strategy, aimed at revolutionizing mobility with customizable, modular designs.
First previewed as a concept at CES 2024, the mid-sized Kia PV5 is designed for flexibility, allowing multiple configurations to suit diverse user needs. Kia plans to introduce specialized conversion options later this month, further expanding the vehicle’s adaptability.
According to Karim Habib, Head of Kia Global Design, all PV5 models adhere to Kia’s “Opposites United” design philosophy, maintaining a consistent visual identity while catering to different functionalities.
Kia PV5 Passenger Model
The PV5 Passenger model features a refined geometric design, large windows, black graphic glass surrounds, and geometric wheel arch claddings, hinting at off-road capability.
Kia PV5 Cargo Model
The PV5 Cargo variant adopts a boxier profile to maximize cargo space. It differentiates itself with twin side-opening tailgate doors for better loading access, compared to the Passenger model’s single lift-up tailgate.
Kia will unveil full product specifications, including interior details and additional derivatives, on February 27, 2025. Event video coverage will be available on Kia’s YouTube channel in March.
