Kia reveals first official image of Tasman Pickup Truck; Everything you need to know

Kia stated earlier this month that they are working on a new pickup vehicle, which they plan to introduce in 2025. The new pickup vehicle, which will enter into the C-segment of pick-up trucks, will be named Tasman, the brand has previously stated. Kia has recently dropped a new photo of the Tasman with a colourful wraparound camouflage.

Not much has been revealed about the new pickup vehicle as of now. An eight-speed torque converter automatic gearbox will be coupled to a 2.2-liter, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. Rumour has it that Kia will also offer the Tasman’s 2.5-liter turbo petrol engine, which is paired with a hybrid powertrain.

Given that it’s a pickup truck, a 4×4 system or all-wheel drive will be offered. Additionally, a low-range gearbox and differential locking could be available.

The Hyundai Santa Cruz, Volkswagen Amarok and Ford Ranger will be the Kia Tasman’s main competitors. In Australia, Kia has been testing the pickup truck for a while now. There is currently no word on whether the company plans to ship the Tasman to India.

However, Kia is introducing the Clavis, a brand-new SUV, to the Indian market. With the Clavis, which will sit between the Sonet and Seltos, the company aims to start a new segment. The new SUV may come in early 2025, with an estimated unveiling by the end of 2024.
