Kia achieves 2.50 lakh vehicle export milestone in India since 2019

Kia India recently disclosed that its vehicle exports have surpassed 2,50,000 units. From its Anantapur manufacturing facility, the company has exported 2,55,133 units abroad to over 100 markets since 2019.

The Seltos has been the main contributor, making up 59% of all international exports for the company. Other models from Kia, the Sonet and Carens, come in second and third, with respective contributions of 34% and 7%.

Kia India is a major export hub for the Kia Corporation. Nonetheless, the company has shifted its attention in recent years to selling its vehicles in domestic markets and as of this year, it will manufacture 90% of its products in India.

Currently, Kia India exports from its Anantapur factory to more than 100 foreign markets. South Africa, Chile, Paraguay and Latin America are some of Kia India’s biggest markets for export. Kia’s Anantapur facility, which started production about five years ago, has become an important export center in the company’s global network.

Chief Sales Officer of Kia India, Mr. Myung-sik Sohn, stated, “Our dedication to quality and innovation has driven us to this milestone. The success of our Made in India vehicles internationally shows our commitment to quality. We’ve quickly become a major market for Kia Corporation and aim to maintain this momentum. While our focus is on the domestic market, we plan to keep our exports steady this year.”
