Kawasaki Ninja 400 discontinued in India, Ninja 500 to take over

Kawasaki is discontinuing the Ninja 400 in the Indian market to make way for its latest addition, the Ninja 500. Motorbeam reports that the Ninja 400’s discontinuation matches with the introduction of a new model that is expected to dominate the market both domestically and internationally.

Unlike the Ninja 300, which gained popularity due to affordable pricing from local production, the Ninja 400 was shipped as a completely built unit (CBU), which made it less affordable for enthusiasts.

Despite its higher price, the Ninja 400 received praise for its elegant look, agile chassis and powerful engine, which provided solid performance throughout various speed ranges.

With the Ninja 500 now grabbing attention, Kawasaki intends to make a calculated move with its bigger engine and refreshed design. Though it isn’t presently available in India, some fans are anxious for the SE version of the Ninja 500, which has a stunning Kawasaki green colour and an attractive TFT display.

However, critics feel that Kawasaki could have explored into local manufacturing options for the Ninja 500, which is similar to the Ninja 300, to make it more affordable.

As Kawasaki bids the Ninja 400 farewell, fans are excited to see what will come next in the supersport lineup and how the Ninja 500 will perform in the dynamic Indian motorcycle market.
