India-Made Hyundai Exter launched in South Africa

Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has expanded its global export portfolio by adding Exter to the list of vehicles exported from India. The made-in-India model, which was recently unveiled in South Africa, will now be available in the country, making it India’s eighth export model. The Grand i10 NIOS, Aura, Venue, Venue N Line, i20, i20 N Line and Alcazar are the other models on the list.

The Hyundai Exter, dubbed South Africa’s newest entry-level crossover, is priced between 2,69,900 South African Rand (about Rs 12.94 lakh) and 3,34,900 South African Rand (roughly Rs 16.08 lakh). Since it is imported in South Africa, as well as other factors, the vehicle is more expensive than the one sold in India, which starts at Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Hyundai Exter’s 1.2-litre petrol engine, which generates 81 bhp and 114 Nm of maximum torque, is the same as the one found in the Indian version. It is paired with a 5-speed AMT or a 5-speed manual transmission.
