The Basalt is said to have been developed on the same platform as C3 and C3 Aircross. It follows the company’s unique design statement, with a similar headlight setup, split DRLs and an attractive bonnet that displays Citreon’s chrome finish logo on the front.

In terms of overall design, the model and the C3 Aircross are very similar. However, the company took a different tack in an attempt to set it apart from other models. It now sports a coupe roofline, giving it a more aesthetic appearance within the lineup.

The company used a powerful 10.2-inch infotainment system and a 7-inch totally digital cluster inside the cabin. All wireless car connect technologies, such as Apple, Android and Auto carplay, are supported by the unit.

Basalt is equipped with both 1.2-litre  naturally aspirated and 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engines. The former has a maximum power output of 80 bhp and 115 Nm of torque, whilst the latter delivers 108 bhp and up to 205 Nm of torque.
