Ather Energy launches 450X electric scooter in Sri Lanka

Ather Energy, the Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has officially launched its flagship 450X electric scooter in Sri Lanka, marking its second international market after Nepal. The brand’s entry into the Sri Lankan EV market is part of its ambitious global expansion strategy.

Priced at LKR 5.35 lakh (approximately ₹1.55 lakh), the Ather 450X delivers a range of 110-150 km on a single charge, depending on the variant. The scooter boasts impressive features, including a top speed of 90 kmph, acceleration from 0-40 kmph in just 3.3 seconds, and a 7-inch touchscreen with integrated Google Maps for seamless navigation.

Ather has partnered with Evolution Auto Pvt Ltd to oversee its distribution, sales, and service operations in Sri Lanka. Evolution Auto, a joint venture between Sensei Capital Partners, Atman Group, and Sino Lanka Private Limited, will manage Ather’s presence in the country.

The company has already started operations with its first showroom in Colombo, aligning with its commitment to establish a strong presence in the region. In addition to delivering high-performance electric scooters, Ather Energy plans to enhance Sri Lanka’s EV charging infrastructure by expanding its fast-charging network.

This move comes after Ather began dispatching its first batches of 450X scooters to Sri Lanka in October. On Monday, the first set of Sri Lankan customers officially received their Ather scooters, marking a significant milestone in the company’s global journey.
