PM Modi to inaugurate Ken-Betwa River Linking Project – Check date, time and other details

On December 25, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Madhya Pradesh to commemorate the 100th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The Prime Minister will participate in several significant events in Khajuraho at approximately 12:30 PM.

Among the major highlights of the visit is the laying of the foundation stone for the Ken-Betwa River Linking National Project, India’s first river interlinking initiative under the National Perspective Plan. This landmark project is set to revolutionize water availability, benefiting farmers in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. It aims to provide drinking water to the region and will contribute over 100 MW of green energy while creating numerous employment opportunities to boost the rural economy.

In addition, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project in Khandwa district, aligning with the government’s mission of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2070. This green energy project is expected to contribute significantly to water conservation efforts by reducing evaporation and lowering carbon emissions.
