Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan announces that 12 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses will available in July

The Health Minister has criticized leaders over giving irresponsible statements and asked them to not create panic.

On July 1, the Health Minister of India Dr. Harsh Vardhan announced that 12 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses will be made available in the month of July.

The Centre has provided 75 per cent of vaccines for free while the surge in the speed of vaccination. In June, 11.50 doses of vaccines were provided.

On the microblogging platfrom Twitter, he wrote in a series of tweet that he had been noticing irresponsible statements from multiple leaders regarding largest vaccination drive.

In addition, he informed a total of 12 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses will be provided to the states in July. The states were informed about the supplies 15 days prior.

Furthermore, the Minister for Health & Family Welfare has highlighted the states’ need for improving their vaccination drive if they face issues. “Intra-state planning & logistics are the responsibility of the states”, he continued. He requested such leaders to desist their “shameless urge” to play politics amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

He expressed that if the leaders were giving out such statements while being aware of the facts then it was “most unfortunate”. If they are not aware, then they should be focusing on their governance.

The Indian Government aims at inoculating every adult, around 108 crore people, by the end of 2021. As of now, more than 33 doses of COVID-19 have been given.

He concluded with requesting the leaders to not spend energies on creating panic but planning.
