Adi Godrej to step down as the Chairman of GIL

Adi Godrej will continue to serve as Godrej Group’s Chairman and Chairman Emeritus of GIL.

On August 13, Godrej Industries Limited (GIL) announced in a regulatory filing that Adi Godrej was set to step down as the Chairman of the company and would be replaced by Nadir Godrej.

“Adi Godrej will step down as Chairman and from the Board of Directors of GIL. He will continue to serve as Chairman of the Godrej Group and Chairman Emeritus of GIL. Nadir Godrej, who is currently Managing Director of GIL, will take over as Chairman and Managing Director of the company”, the company said.

Speaking about the announcement, the veteran industrialist stated that he was grateful to GIL’s board for their support and guidance as well as the team members whose passion, commitment and hard work had driven their success. In addition, he extended gratitude to GIL’s customers, business partners, shareholders, investors and communities for their continued partnership.

In addition, Adi Godrej said that he was confident that the company’s best years were coming up and he looked forward to Nadir and their team achieving exciting aspirations.

Adi Godrej is a recipient of recognition and awards like The Rajiv Gandhi Award, 2002 and The American India Foundation (AIF) Leadership in Philanthropy Award, 2010.
