Train services hit from Puri as two empty coaches derailed at Malatipatpur station

Two coaches of an empty train while on way to Puri were derailed at Malatipatpur station on Saturday late evening.

There was no casualty as the train was empty. Two lines of the station are blocked as the derailed bogies are blocking the lines.

According to Bishnupada Panda, the station master of Malatipatpur station, the empty train was parked at Sakhigopal station.It was on the way to Puri to leave as Lokmanya Tilak express to Mumbai on Sunday morning at 6am.

While trains are going to Puri on a single line no train has left Puri station after the accident.

Panda said efforts are on to clear the line to facilitate departure of outgoing trains. The train services will be delayed, he added.

On the other hand, hundreds of passengers with children are waiting at the Puri railway station to go to various destinations.
