The Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Mann has announced 300 units of free electricity in the state. This will be made effective from July 1.
Free electricity was one of the promises that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) made during their election campaign in Punjab. “Government of Punjab announces 300 units of free electricity for households from July 1st, 2022,” as per the statement released by the state government.
Earlier in Punjab, approx 200 units of free electricity were provided to people belonging to Scheduled Castes & other backward & underdeveloped classes. Now 300 units of free electricity will be provided to each & every citizen of Punjab without any discrimination.
AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal has further announced that the government will ensure a 24/7 power supply & will soon waive off the pending electricity bills.
As soon as the AAP came into power in Punjab, CM Bhagwant Mann has made various announcements including 25,000 government jobs for youth. Recently the government has also launched the anti-corruption helpline number to curb the misconduct in the state. Meanwhile, AAP has started its campaign in the election-bound states of Gujarat & Himachal Pradesh.
