PM Narendra Modi launches Sansad TV on the occasion of International Democracy Day

According to reports, veteran Congress leader Karan Singh, economist Bibek Debroy, NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, and advocate Hemant Batra will host different shows on Sansad TV.

On Wednesday, “Sansad TV” has been launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Vice President of India and Rajya Sabha Chairperson, M Venkaiah Naidu and Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla were also present at the Main Committee Room, Parliament House Annexe.

The launch date happened on the same date as the International Day of Democracy, the PMO noted. “This adds another important chapter in our parliamentary system,” said PM Modi at the launch of Sansad TV.

The decision to join Lok Sabha TV and Rajya Sabha TV was taken in February month of this year, and in March 2021 CEO of Sansad TV was appointed.

There will be four categories for programs in Sansad TV: 

  • Functioning of Parliament and democratic institutions, governance, and implementation of schemes.
  • Policies, history, and culture of India and issues.
  • Interests.
  • Concerns of contemporary nature.
