Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the Delhi Red Fort blast on Monday evening and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

In a post shared late Monday night, the Prime Minister said,

“Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in the blast in Delhi earlier this evening. May the injured recover at the earliest. Those affected are being assisted by authorities. Reviewed the situation with Home Minister Amit Shah Ji and other officials.”

According to government sources, the Prime Minister was briefed by Home Minister Amit Shah, who had earlier reached LNJP Hospital to meet the injured and review the relief measures.

The explosion, which occurred around 6:52 PM near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station, left at least 10 people dead and over 20 injured. Several vehicles were gutted in the fire that followed the blast, which took place in a Hyundai i20 at the Subhash Marg traffic signal.

All major agencies including the NIA, NSG, and Delhi Police Crime Branch are jointly investigating the case. Forensic teams are working to identify the cause and composition of the explosive material used.

Security has been stepped up across Delhi, NCR, and Uttar Pradesh, with the area around Red Fort sealed off as the investigation continues.
