India-UK relations have never been this good as it’s now: PM Boris Johnson

Boris Johnson said he was welcomed in a fantastic manner by PM Modi and he was very happy to be in India.

UK’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson is on a 2-day visit to India which started yesterday at Ahmedabad in Gujarat state and now he is in Delhi for his day 2 visit with PM Modi. He flies back to the UK with happy memories and a stronger bond with India.

He spoke early this morning stating, “It is an immense pleasure to be in one of the largest democracies (citing India), I was overwhelmed with the fantastic welcome I received from Gujarat and their leadership. I am very happy to meet my dear friend and PM Modi. What a lovely and warm welcome. We look forward to plenty of discussions and things have never been this great between us before. I wouldn’t get much attention elsewhere in the world (he giggled).”

Today both the Prime Ministers will discuss how to further their trade deals, defense deals, energy deals, and student exchange programs giving impetus to the education as well in New Delhi. Next week post his return Boris Johnson will start new negotiations and set the ball rolling for the Indo-British bilateral ties to strategically, in all verticals possible strengthen.

Yesterday Boris Johnson had quite an eventful and packed day. He paid a visit to Mahatma Gandhi’s Sabarmati Ashram, Gujarat Biotechnology University, Akshardham Temple, Gujarat International Finance Tech-City (also known as Gift city), via helicopter he flew to the JCB plant in Vadodara, He met the Chairman of Adani Group – Gautam Adani as well.
