Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to chair a high-level security review meeting at 11 AM at Kartavya Bhawan. The meeting will be attended by Home Secretary Govind Mohan, the Director of the Intelligence Bureau, the NIA Director General, and the Delhi Police Commissioner, among other senior officials.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA), National Security Guard (NSG), and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) are jointly investigating the case to determine the nature of the explosion and its possible links to earlier recoveries.
Notably, the blast follows the recovery of around 360 kg of suspected ammonium nitrate, along with arms and ammunition, from a Kashmiri doctor’s rented accommodation in Faridabad. The doctor, Muzammil, was arrested by Haryana Police in coordination with Jammu and Kashmir officials.
Preliminary investigation has also revealed that Mohd Salman, who owned the Hyundai i20 involved in the blast from 2016 to 2020, had not transferred the car’s ownership after moving out of his Faridabad residence. His landlord confirmed that the car was registered at his address and that Salman no longer stays there.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra has been placed on high alert, with security tightened across Mumbai’s vital installations and railway stations as a precautionary measure.
Religious leader Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham condemned the attack, urging authorities to ensure that the accused “must be hanged” and called for unity to prevent such acts of terror in the future.
