Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said today that the government expects the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill and the Telecommunication Bill to be passed during the Monsoon session of Parliament.
The IT and telecom minister stated at the Google For India event that another bill on the Digital India Act will be floated for public consultation in a month.
The Digital Data Protection Bill and the Telecommunications Bill, according to the minister, will be passed in Parliament in July-August.
He stated that under the Telecommunications Bill, the government will implement light-touch regulation with a focus on user protection.
