Bihar mandates negative RT-PCR report for travellers from Kerala

“Besides Kerala, if any person coming from Maharashtra, he/she will have to undergo testing at the airports and railway stations before being allowed in the city,” he averred, further stating that it could be an indication of the arrival of Covid-19 third wave in the country.

The Bihar government has announced that people travelling from Kerala will now have to show negative RT-PCR reports. To ascertain this, security has been amplified in Patna and Darbhanga airports including the three railway stations of Patna to suffice the same. Medical teams have been deployed over the areas to keep a check on the following requisites.

“If any passenger is not carrying the RT-PCR negative report, we have the provision to send him to an isolation centre for 14 days,” said an official of the Bihar health department.

After crossing the 14 days slot of coronavirus infection, a person succumbed to the virus in Patna’s AIIMS on Thursday late evening. The deceased was from Samastipur and was brought to the hospital after coming under the trap of COVID on August 24. By Thursday, 15 fresh cases emerged from Bihar, three from Patna and Saharsa respectively. Around 30,000 cases were listed on a daily count in Kerala, which constituted 65 per cent of the overall cases in India.
