Infosys Ltd has informed the stock exchanges that it has received tax refund orders from the Income Tax Department under Section 250 of the Income Tax Act, 1961, pertaining to Assessment Years 2016-17 and 2019-20. The orders were received on March 25 and March 26, 2025, respectively.
As per the official filing, the company expects a total refund of ₹2,949 crore, which includes interest. Infosys further noted that it is currently evaluating the financial impact of these orders on its results for the quarter and year ending March 31, 2025.
The development could bolster the company’s balance sheet in the final quarter of FY25 and may influence investor sentiment as Infosys prepares to close its financial year.
