Shares of Hinduja Global Solutions surged more than 10% in early trade on Tuesday after the company announced that its broadband vertical, neOTT Intertainment Ltd., has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Transformation Commission Uttar Pradesh to roll out Project GANGA (Government Assisted Network for Growth & Advancement) across Uttar Pradesh.
The agreement represents a major step toward strengthening digital infrastructure and expanding high-speed broadband connectivity across the state, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas.
The MoU was signed by Manoj Kumar Singh, CEO of the State Transformation Commission, and Vynsley Fernandes, Whole-Time Director of Hinduja Global Solutions and Managing Director & CEO of neOTT Intertainment Ltd. The signing ceremony was attended by Suresh Kumar Khanna, Minister for Finance & Parliamentary Affairs of Uttar Pradesh, along with other senior officials and dignitaries.
Project GANGA has been designed as a large-scale digital inclusion initiative focused on empowering youth and promoting entrepreneurship at the grassroots level. Under the programme, approximately 8,000–10,000 local entrepreneurs at the Nyaya Panchayat level will be enabled to operate as independent Digital Service Providers (DSPs). These DSPs will be responsible for delivering high-speed broadband connectivity to communities across the state, helping bridge the digital divide.
The initiative is expected to connect more than 2 million households over the next 2–3 years, while also generating over 100,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities. The programme also emphasises inclusivity, with a meaningful share of opportunities expected to be created for women entrepreneurs.
Project GANGA aligns with the Uttar Pradesh government’s broader push to strengthen digital infrastructure for essential services such as education, healthcare, and governance. Entrepreneurs participating as DSPs will receive structured support that includes technical training, financial assistance, network deployment support, and technology enablement.
For the rollout of the initiative, neOTT Intertainment will leverage the digital infrastructure and operational capabilities of Hinduja Global Solutions and NXTDIGITAL. Together, the ecosystem currently connects more than 5 million homes across India, operates in over 4,500 pin codes covering around 1,500 cities and towns, and works with over 15,000 franchise partners. The network is backed by more than 200,000 kilometres of fibre infrastructure.
