Indian equity benchmarks traded largely flat during midday trading on March 16, with both the Nifty 50 and Sensex hovering near the previous session’s levels. As of 12:10 PM IST, the Nifty 50 was trading at 23,166.80, up 15.70 points (0.07%), while the Sensex stood at 74,614.84, gaining 50.92 points (0.07%).

Despite the marginal gains in the headline indices, several Nifty 50 stocks were trading in the red during midday trade, led by Bharat Electronics, which recorded the steepest decline among the index constituents.

Top Nifty 50 Losers (as of 12:10 PM IST)

Bharat Electronics was the biggest loser among Nifty 50 stocks during midday trade. The stock was trading at 426.40, down 3.0%.

Wipro was also under pressure, trading at 194.10, lower by 1.8%.

Power Grid Corporation declined to 295.80, falling 1.7%.

Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories traded at 1,270.30, down 1.7%.

Infosys slipped to 1,228.00, declining 1.6%.

Sun Pharmaceutical Industries was trading at 1,772.90, lower by 1.6%.

NTPC also moved lower to 378.40, down 1.6%.

Max Healthcare Institute traded at 975.30, falling 1.5%.

Tata Consultancy Services declined to 2,375.20, down 1.5%.

Coal India was trading at 461.30, lower by 1.2%.

The declines among IT, pharmaceutical, power, and PSU stocks weighed on the broader Nifty 50 during the midday session even as the benchmark index remained largely stable. Trading activity continued to remain mixed across sectors during the session.
