Prime stock market indices, Sensex and Nifty, today at 9:15 AM (IST), begun trading a little positively in comparison to Wednesday’s market closing limits.
On 17th of February, the markets had shown negative movement. The stocks of Banking & Financial Firms, at the combined market cap, were down by 0.35%. Financial services index Nifty Bank had closed down by Rs 187.45 by 0.51% at Rs 36,910.95.
At 10:30 AM (IST), Sensex was trading at 51,738.44, up by 62.47 points at 0.13%; Nifty 50 was slightly higher at 15241.65 points, which was up by 28.25 points, 0.18% compared to yesterday’s closing.
SBI remains the stock with the highest volume maintaining constantly, its high volumes since a week.
Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (IGL) was the top gainer today, gaining 8.07% to Rs 589.20. Natural Gas stocks were all considerably higher today during the opening. ONGC was among the top gainers today, having risen 5.82% at 10:35 AM (IST) valuing the stock at Rs 108.20. Mahanagar Gas and GAIL India Ltd. were also up by 6.44% at Rs 1,225.00 and 5.54% at Rs 141.85 consecutively.
The Oil & Gas segment is combined market cap had grown 1.24% today with refineries contributing the highest growth at 3.18% and Oil Exploration & Production has grown 0.96%.
