Indian equity benchmarks ended on a strong note on March 24, with the Nifty closing above the 22,900 mark. The Sensex gained 1,372.06 points (1.89%) to settle at 74,068.45, while the Nifty rose 445.15 points (1.98%) to close at 22,957.80.

Despite the overall positive momentum, a few Nifty 50 stocks ended the day in the red.

Coal India emerged as the top loser among index constituents, closing at ₹442.10, down 2.9%. Power Grid Corporation followed, declining 1.0% to end at ₹299.00.

Adani Enterprises slipped 0.8% to close at ₹1,817.90. Among pharmaceutical stocks, Sun Pharmaceutical Industries edged lower by 0.3% to ₹1,752.80, while Cipla declined 0.2% to ₹1,220.00.

State Bank of India also closed marginally lower, down 0.1% at ₹1,030.80.
