Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured a significant design-build-operate order from the Guwahati Metropolitan Drinking Water & Sewerage Board for a comprehensive water management project in Assam. The project aims to ensure 24×7 safe and continuous water supply to households in South-East Guwahati, enhancing the reliability and efficiency of the city’s water infrastructure.

The scope of the project covers end-to-end execution, including design, supply, installation, construction, testing and commissioning of key components such as a barge-mounted intake system, raw water rising main, water treatment plant, reservoirs, booster pumping stations, and a distribution network with household service connections.

As part of the contract, L&T will also deploy a fully integrated SCADA system for real-time monitoring and performance management. Additionally, the company will handle operation and maintenance of the project for a period of five years, ensuring sustained efficiency and service delivery.

This order has been awarded to L&T’s Water & Effluent Treatment (WET) business vertical, further strengthening its presence in the northeast region. The project reflects the company’s continued focus on expanding its regional footprint while delivering sustainable and efficient water solutions across key geographies.
