JSW Energy stock in focus as subsidiary signs PPA for 700 MW solar project

JSW Renew Energy Eleven Limited, a subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for a 700 MW solar project. This project, awarded under SECI Tranche XIII, will supply power for 25 years at a tariff of ₹2.56 per kWh. The project is expected to be commissioned within the next 24 months.

This move aligns with JSW Energy’s strategy to enhance its renewable energy portfolio. Currently, the company operates 7.9 GW of capacity across thermal, hydro, and renewable energy sources. JSW Energy plans to increase its capacity to 10 GW by FY 2025 and aims for a total generation capacity of 20 GW, alongside 40 GWh of energy storage, by 2030. The company is also working towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
