Shares of HDFC Asset Management Company Ltd. (HDFC AMC) gained nearly 2% to Rs 5,621.50 in early trade on Monday, October 13, after the company announced a proposal to reward shareholders with a potential bonus issue.
In an exchange filing dated October 10, HDFC AMC said that its board will meet on Wednesday, October 15, to consider a proposal for issuing bonus shares to shareholders. The same meeting will also review the company’s July–September quarter financial results (Q2 FY26).
This marks the first-ever consideration of a bonus issue since HDFC AMC’s listing in 2018. Despite never issuing bonus shares in the past, the company has consistently rewarded shareholders through dividends, distributing Rs 336 per share since 2019, including Rs 90 per share in June 2025 alone.
At the end of the June 2025 quarter, promoters held a 52.4% stake, while over 4 lakh small retail shareholders, each holding authorized share capital up to Rs 2 lakh, collectively owned 6.51% of the company.
The stock’s recent rally reflects optimism among investors anticipating the bonus announcement, which could further enhance shareholder value.
