Rohit Shetty has sent Bollywood fans into a wave of nostalgia after unveiling a special glimpse from Golmaal 5, recreating one of the most iconic scenes from the 2006 comedy classic Golmaal: Fun Unlimited. The newly released behind-the-scenes video features Arshad Warsi and Sharman Joshi reprising their beloved characters Madhav and Laxman in the famous racing sequence that became a fan favourite over the years.
The video cleverly transitions between footage from the original film and the newly shot sequence, recreating the memorable moment where Sharman Joshi’s character disguises himself as a woman while sitting beside Arshad Warsi during a chaotic car race. The actors recreated the same expressions and gestures nearly 20 years later, instantly reminding audiences of the madness and humour that made the franchise hugely popular.
Sharing the clip on social media, Rohit Shetty wrote, “Driving down the memory lane! How old were you when you watched the first Golmaal? We promise you’ll relive those happy days very soon… filming in progress.” Arshad Warsi also shared the video, adding, “20 years and nothing has changed. Golmaal will keep entertaining you…” while Sharman Joshi called it the “Baap of all throwbacks.”

Directed by Rohit Shetty, Golmaal 5 marks Sharman Joshi’s return to the franchise after the first film. The upcoming installment reportedly stars Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu and Akshay Kumar in important roles.
The original Golmaal: Fun Unlimited, released in 2006, became one of Bollywood’s most loved comedy films and later grew into a successful franchise with multiple sequels. Over the years, the series has developed a cult fan following because of its slapstick humour, comic timing and memorable characters.
Ever since the nostalgic clip surfaced online, social media has been flooded with emotional reactions from fans calling it a “childhood memory” and celebrating the return of the original Golmaal energy. With filming currently underway, excitement around Golmaal 5 has already reached another level.
