Shahid Kapoor & Kareena Kapoor to reunite for Jab We Met 2? Here’s what we know so far

Jab We Met, which was released in 2007, starred Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor as Aditya and Geet, respectively.

Jab We Met, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor, is one of the most popular films. The romantic comedy, which was released in 2007, was a huge success and continues to rule hearts even today. While fans have frequently requested a sequel to the film, it appears that it is finally happening. According to a Times Now article, the plot for Jab We Met 2 is “taking shape.”

According to the entertainment site, Raj Mehta, the owner of Ashtavinayak, would produce the film under the Gandhar Films name. Gandhar Group, which has been in the oil refinery industry for 30 years, entered the entertainment market in 2021 with the founding of Gandhar Films & Studio Private Limited. It has also been reported that Imtiaz Ali, who directed the first film, is likely to direct the sequel too.

While there has been no official statement from the creators about Jab We Met 2, it is now being speculated whether exes Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor will reunite for the film and reprise their roles as Geet and Aditya, respectively.

Jab We Met was re-released in theatres earlier this year, and Shahid Kapoor discussed the prospective sequel with Siddharth Kannan, saying, “It really depends on the quality of that script. So, if there is a script that demands a sequel and I feel it is the type of script that you read and say,’man, this will be better than the original, this can match up to the original,’ I would do it, but if I feel it isn’t and I’m just trying to use the brand value of the original thing to do, I feel that ‘why are you doing it, don’t do it.'”

The 42-year-old actor went on to praise Kareena and stated that no other actress can pull of Geet the way she did. “I cannot comment on my role, but for Geet (Kareena Kapoor’s character), I really doubt anybody else will be able to do that kind of justice,” he added.
