OMG 2: Kapil Sharma approached for role

Filmmaker Nandita Das has approached Kapil Sharma’s talent for her next feature. Das is co-producing with Sameer Nair. Kapil is currently in talks for another project, which will be sponsored by Vipul D Shah.

Kapil Sharma is now on a marathon of climbing ladders of success now as several reports reveal that filmmaker Nandita Das has approached Kapil Sharma’s talent for her next feature, which she is co-producing with Sameer Nair. They announced the film last month and began shooting it in Bhubaneswar shortly after.

Kapil is currently in talks for another fascinating project, which will be sponsored by Vipul D Shah, according to our sources. Sharma and the producer previously worked together on Comedy Circus.

According to Pinkvilla source close to the situation, “Kapil Sharma and Vipul D Shah have known each other for many years. Vipul has offered Kapil a comedy film, and discussions around it are in advanced stage. It will be an entertaining film, but the schedule and other logistics will be finalised once they formalise the project.”

Shah is also co-producing OMG 2 or Oh My God! 2 with Ashwin Varde, which stars Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam. A few more projects are in the works for the actor-comedian.

Meanwhile, Shahana Goswami portrays the female protagonist in Nandita’s film, which stars Kapil Sharma. Kapil has said on his social media account when announcing the project, “Your Order is Placed. Applause Entertainment & Nandita Das Initiatives are thrilled to present the most exciting collaboration of the year. Writer-Director-Producer Nandita Das teams up with Kapil Sharma in a never seen before avatar of a food delivery rider. Kapil will be joined by Shahana Goswami as the female lead. Filming soon! Need your blessings.”

Kapil even met acclaimed Hollywood filmmaker Dennis Dugan in Los Angeles last year to discuss a prospective collaboration.

Shah was contacted by the media, but we have yet to hear back from him.
