The movie “Pippa,” starring Ishaan Khatter and Mrunal Thakur, was originally scheduled to premiere on December 2, 2022, however, this date was postponed for unspecified reasons. During the delay, there were rumours that Pippa will debut online instead of in theatres. The production company RSVP, nevertheless, has declared these rumours untrue.
In a formal announcement about the Pippa release, RSVP promised to reveal the movie’s release date shortly. The statement read, “This is in regard to an article that appeared in a newspaper publication yesterday with the headline “PIPPED FOR AN OTT RELEASE”, which made some completely unsubstantiated assertions about supposed issues between the producers of PIPPA and multiplex operators, causing PIPPA to allegedly opt for an OTT release. Neither the producers nor any multiplex operator/s were approached for comment before the publication of this article.”
It further read, “Ronnie Screwvala, Siddharth Roy Kapur and Kamal Gianchandani of PVRINOX, who also represents the Multiplex Association of India (MAI) as its President, state, “RSVP and Roy Kapur Films have no ongoing issues with multiplex operators. Any rumours or articles suggesting otherwise are baseless and unfounded.” We are all committed to working together to bring quality content to audiences in cinemas across India. Pippa is a film that has been made for the big screen and an official announcement about the release date will be made soon.”

Raja Krishna Menon is the director of “Pippa,” which also features Mrunal Thakur, Priyanshu Painyuli, and Soni Razdan.
Ishaan portrays a military hero in the movie. The movie highlights the bravery of Colonel Balram Singh Mehta (Ishaan), a former member of the 45th Cavalry tank unit who fought on the eastern front with his brothers during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War. Ishaan previously discussed how taking on the role has changed his life in an interview with PTI.
Moreover, “Pippa” refers to the PT-76 Soviet amphibious combat tank that was employed in the conflict. In Punjabi, the word “Pippa” refers to a floating, empty ghee ka dabba.
