Dhadak 2: Janhvi Kapoor REACTS to Triptii Dimri-Siddhant Chaturvedi replacing her and Ishaan Khatter in the film’s sequel

Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi play Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter’s roles in Dhadak 2.

Janhvi Kapoor made her Bollywood debut alongside Ishaan Khatter in Dhadak. Their performances were well-received by both the audience and reviewers, and Janhvi has since established herself in Bollywood by playing a variety of roles. Now that Dhadak has a sequel, Janhvi has reacted to Triptii Dimri and Siddhant Chaturvedi moving the franchise ahead.

Siddhant Chaturvedi announced his film Dhadak 2, starring Triptii Dimri, on Instagram today, May 27. Janhvi Kapoor responded to the announcement by liking Siddhant’s tweet. Check it out here.

The announcement video posted by Siddhant is set to the theme tune and features the text “ek tha raja, ek thi rani, jaat alag thi, khatam kahani” in red. Like the original Dhadak, the sequel investigates how class and prestige interfere with love.

Shazia Iqbal directed the film, which was produced by Dharma Productions, Zed Studios, and Cloud 9 Pictures. The film will be released on November 22nd of this year.

Dhadak 2 will be Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri’s debut collaboration. Siddhant was last seen in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, alongside Ananya Panday and Adarsh Gourav. Triptii rose to prominence with her appearance in Ranbir Kapoor’s film Animal.

Janhvi Kapoor and Ishan Khatter’s Dhadak was released in 2018. The film was directed by Shashank Khaitan. Dhadak also featured Ashutosh Rana, Aditya Kumar, Shridhar Watsar, Ankit Bisht, and Ishika Gagneja, among others.

Dhadak starred Janhvi as Parthavi and Ishan as Madhukar in Rajasthan. They fall in love, but their families oppose them because of their socioeconomic status differences.

To marry one other and enjoy a life free of these challenges, they elope and conceive a child, but Parthavi’s father and brother pursue them. What follows is a heartbreaking love story set against the backdrop of societal caste and class barriers.

Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor is anticipating the release of her highly awaited upcoming film, Mr And Mrs Mahi. In the film, the actress will play a doctor who later becomes a cricketer.
