For the last couple of days there has been much buzz about the new flick ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ starring Prabhas. The audience has been waiting for a long time for this sci-fi, mythological Film directed by Nag Ashwin the director of Mr. Majnu. This is possibly the first occasion that the two largest stars of Bollywood – Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone are acting major roles in a South film.
Now, all eyes are on the film revenues in particular the box office sales of the movie. h has been predicted that ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ could make a business of Rs 200 crore on the very first day of its release. To the surprise of many this figure might appear, but let us assure you ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ would not be the first film to chalk this feat. Two South films prior to this have earned business more than Rs 200 crore on its opening day. We are talking about the film ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ and its Antithesis ‘RRR’.

What is perhaps shocking in the above list is that even Prabhas’ flop movie Adipurush is also there which collected 127 crores on one single day. At number seven spot, we have yet another Atlee’s upcoming film ‘Jawan’ starring the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan which is the actor’s highest grosser till date. They also loved the film ‘Jawan’ and the business of Rs 129 accomplished was due to the taste of the people. India’s oldest and most circulate daily newspaper received an advertisement revenue of $ 6 crore on the first day. However, coming to Prabhas, the actor has a bigger flop awaiting him than Shah Rukh Khan’s superhit ‘Pathaan’ as listed above.
As of the public holidays, there are only two Bollywood movies in the global earning of the first-day collection list. Besides ‘Jawan’, other films are ‘Animal’ featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. Sandeep Reddy Vanga ‘Animal’ minted Rs 115. The first day net was at 9 crores. At number ten there is ‘2. 0’ a movie with Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar in the lead role directed by Shankar which has got an opening of Rs 105. 6 crores. This film was succeeded the ‘Robot’.
