Marvel Studios’ Deadpool & Wolverine has been dropping hints about the inclusion of Lady Deadpool, a new antiheroine from the Marvel Comics universe.
The first tease came during the Super Bowl trailer in February, where a quick glimpse showed a character in red and black, wielding uzis instead of Deadpool’s traditional katanas. This pointed to Lady Deadpool, who is known for her distinctive weapon choice.
Further hints appeared in the “Best Friends Day” ad released on June 8, showcasing red legs walking through sparks, which seemed more in line with Lady Deadpool than the main Deadpool.
By July 16, the “Everyone” TV spot provided a clearer look at Lady Deadpool. Fans got to see her full costume, complete with uzis on her belt, a red-and-black outfit, and flowing blonde hair. Her face and mask were still a mystery, but this preview suggested a significant role for her.
Marvel Studios subtly hinted at her importance with the soundtrack list, including Chris de Burgh’s “Lady in Red,” indicating that Lady Deadpool might have a more prominent role compared to other Deadpool Variants.
On July 19, just before the film’s release, a new trailer gave fans the first full look at Lady Deadpool. She appears in a multiversal portal, wearing a costume similar to Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool but with her unique blonde ponytail. She seems to have the Deadpool Corps backing her up.
Lady Deadpool: Who is she?
Lady Deadpool is essentially a female version of Deadpool from an alternate universe, often Earth-3010 in the comics. Her real name is Wanda Wilson. She first appeared in Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth #7, where she led a rebellion against a fascist regime in Washington, D.C.

However, a significant difference is that her brain cells regenerate frequently due to repeated injuries. This results in memory issues and makes her sanity a bit unstable, often leading her to act unpredictably.
Who Might Play Lady Deadpool?
A few notable names are being considered for the role of Lady Deadpool in Deadpool & Wolverine:
- Blake Lively: The top contender is Blake Lively, known for her long blonde hair that matches Lady Deadpool’s look. Lively is also married to Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool, which makes her a popular choice among fans. They starred together in Green Lantern, adding to the speculation.
