Jim Parsons opens up about reprising his role in Young Sheldon with Mayim Bialik

Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik will be reprising their The Big Bang Theory characters – Sheldon and Amy – on the spinoff series – Young Sheldon. The actor recently opened up on how “beautiful” it was for him to reprise that role.

In a conversation with Entertainment Tonight‘s Rachel Smith about his Broadway project, Mother Play, Jim revealed that he has already taped his part for the Young Sheldon series finale. He will be appearing alongside Mayim Bialik’s Amy Farah Fowler, and said that going back to the familiar character felt so much better than he expected.

“It was beautiful. It was even more beautiful that I expected it to be. One of the reasons I was excited to do it is because what they wrote is so sweet and I think they worked Mayim and I into that show so beautifully,” says the actor to ET.

He continued, “I hope everyone agrees. But also for us the way that they tape – because they’re a single camera show and we’re multi camera – the whole look of the show was a really special experience. To get to go with Mayim, in a world we’re really guests and revisit these characters a little older, just a completely different circumstance.”

When the actors reprise their role, it will be a flash-forward scene. It will mark the first time that they will be revisiting their characters since the finale of TBBT in 2019.
