Deepika Padukone is one of the biggest actresses of the decade, and the Hindi film industry would not be the same without her. Padukone was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, the daughter of a well-known Indian badminton player, and when she returned to India, she originally pursued a career in badminton. She eventually decided to become an actor and made her debut in 2006, at the age of 20. A year later, she would star in Om Shanti Om, which established her career and paved the way for Padukone’s current popularity.
1. Om Shanti Om
Om Shanti Om, starring Padukone and Khan, was a huge success when it was released in 2007. Khan plays the main character in the film, which spans thirty years, from 1977 to 2007. He is profoundly in love with a cinema actress of the time (Padukone) and, after much debate, decides to meet her one day. When he does this, the course of their lives will be altered. Om Shanti Om was the highest-grossing Hindi film ever when it originally came out.
2.Chhappak
Padukone produced Chhappak and also played in the main part. It is a biographical film based on the true experience of a woman who survived an acid attack. She turned down a proposal from a man twice her age, which prompted him to splatter acid all over her, disfiguring her. She was fortunate to live, and as a result of what occurred to her, she decided to become an advocate for acid attack survivors and victims. The film’s theme is one that is rarely explored in films, and while it was not a financial success at the box office, it nonetheless has an influence in bringing these stories to the popular consciousness.
3.Padmavaat
Padukone plays the lead in Padmavaat: Padmavati. Set in India during a historical period when Padmavati, one of the most desired princesses in the nation, finds herself the focus of many strong men’s loves. When she captures the eye of a Muslim prince from a distant region, the film delves into the territory of defending the country from invading forces. Padmavaat is a contentious film because of its depiction of faiths and women, yet it is an iconic appearance for Padukone despite genuine criticisms about what the film represents in today’s society and climate.
4. Yeh jawani hai deewani
