Well-known ghazal maestro Pankaj Udhas took his last breath on the 26th of February. He passed away at the age of 72 and the news was confirmed by his family. A post was shared on Instagram by his family, revealing that he is no more. He was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital.

Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid a tribute among many others. He expressed grief and shared a post on his official X account. PM Modi shared a picture with Pankaj Udhas that was captured during their meet-ups. PM asserted how the late singer’s ghazal was beautifully crafted and resonated with the masses.
Taking to his X account. He wrote, “We mourn the loss of Pankaj Udhas Ji, whose singing conveyed a range of emotions and whose Ghazals spoke directly to the soul. He was a beacon of Indian music, whose melodies transcended generations. I recall my various interactions with him over the years.”
The late singer’s daughter took to her Instagram account and shared the news regarding Pankaj Udhas’s demise. She stated, “With a very heavy heart, we are saddened to inform you of the sad demise of Padmashri Pankaj Udhas on 26th February 2024 due to a prolonged illness.”
Pankaj Udhas was a renowned singer and known for his exceptional ghazals. He was a recipient of the Padma Shri Award in the year 2006. His last rights will be performed on the 27th of February, in Mumbai. Panjak Udhas will always be cherished for his timeless melodies and remarkable ghazal. He was a pure asset to the music industry and will always be cherished as a remarkable icon.
