Varun Beverages Limited (VBL) has announced a significant extension to its exclusive bottling appointment and trademark license agreement with PepsiCo Inc. The revised agreement, effective from 21 May 2026, extends the partnership’s term until 30 April 2049, a decade longer than the previous agreement which was set to expire in 2039.
The updated agreement marks a pivotal change for VBL, as it removes the earlier restriction that limited the company to operate solely as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for PepsiCo’s business. This amendment potentially opens up new avenues for VBL to diversify its operations while maintaining its strong association with PepsiCo.
The revised agreement underscores the enduring relationship between VBL and PepsiCo, reflecting a mutual commitment to strengthening their business collaboration in India. This extension is poised to enhance VBL’s operational capabilities and market presence in the Indian beverage sector.
The announcement was made in accordance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, and has been disseminated on VBL’s official website.
