Tejas Networks has announced a strategic partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) to enhance innovation and research in next-generation telecom technologies. The collaboration aims to foster skill development and catalyse advancements in both wireline and wireless technologies.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Tejas Networks and IIT Gandhinagar will establish a telecom Centre of Excellence (CoE) at the institute. This CoE is envisioned as a platform for world-class training, innovation, and deployment-oriented learning, aligning with national priorities in advanced telecom research.
Professor Rajat Moona, Director of IIT Gandhinagar, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting its potential to drive world-class research and develop cutting-edge solutions in the telecom sector. He noted that the collaboration aligns with the Government of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat vision, aiming to build a thriving telecom industry in Gujarat.
Dr. Kumar N. Sivarajan, Chief Technology Officer of Tejas Networks, emphasised the significance of IIT Gandhinagar as a national hub for research in next-generation telecom technologies. He expressed pride in collaborating with the institute and leveraging Tejas Networks’ industry experience and technology expertise to accelerate research efforts.
Tejas Networks, a part of the Tata Group, designs and manufactures high-performance networking products for telecommunications service providers and other entities in over 75 countries.
