Tata Power has acquired Dorjilung Hydro Power Limited (DHPL), which is developing a 1,125 MW hydroelectric power project in Bhutan. The acquisition is being completed through cash consideration, with the first tranche already finished and remaining tranches to be made over a period of six years.

The project will support Tata Power’s clean and green energy transition strategy. DHPL was incorporated on 8 December 2025 and has no prior turnover or net worth recorded. The acquisition does not fall within related party transaction provisions, and no Indian governmental or regulatory approvals are required for the deal to proceed.
